Albany to Exmouth

Mandurah
It is well known for its sunny climate, its calm protected waterways, its excellent crabbing and fishing and its relaxed atmosphere. Located around Peel Inlet, it and the nearby town of Pinjarra feature old farm houses, churches and public buildings. Many of these are in excellent condition and some have been restored as museums. Other attractions.. a steam railway and a amusement park.

Manjimup
Located in the SW of the State and regarded as the gateway to the surrounding tall timber country. The rich, red soil of the district will also support almost any agricultural crop.

Margaret River
It is a long established dairy town some 270Km S of Perth. The surrounding distinct is also one of Western Australia's most productive grape-growing areas. Noted for its gravelly soil and cool climate, the region is highly conductive to the production of classically elegant table wines.

Mount Barket
Originally conceived as a staging post for Cobb & Co. coaches on the 'Perth to Albany' route. There is a mus. of much of its historical past. Another attraction is the pioneer chapel of St Werburgh but the most notable attraction is the Plantagenet Winery, noted for its dry white, light red and dry red table wines. Other wines produced in the area include Redmond, Narrikup and Forest Hill Vineyard wines.

Pemberton
The tourist and timber town is renowned for its impressive stands of karri trees, as well as for its scenic drives and trout brooks. The main attractions are an arboretum, the world's tallest fire lookout, karri forests 90Ms high and the majestic Beedelup Falls, said to be the finest in WA.

Pilbara
A region of WA in the Port Hedland hinterland. It was the scene of gold rushes from 1888 until it was eclipsed by Coolgardie in 1892. Iron ore deposits were noted there in the early 1950's but mining did not begin until after the embargo on iron ore exports was lifted in 1960.

Port Hedland
It is the gateway to the Pilbara region, one of the world's major mineral fields. The region's massive reserves of iron ore are railed to Port Hedland, where they are stockpiled awaiting shipment interestate or overseas. The port facilities can accept the largest ore carriers in the world. Another major export is salt. The port is also known for its excellent fishing
