Mootwingee Historical Site
This is a 486 Hectare site, located 113Km NE of Broek Hill, via the Silver City Hghway. The area contains a wealth of Aboriginal Relics
such as campsites, tools and implements, stone arrangements, rock engravings, stencils and paintings. The site features unusual rock formations, water-filled
rock holes and well-tembered watercourses. The area has an abundance of animal and birdlife, some of which can be seen
along the many walking tracks.
Mudgee Wineries
Wine has been produced here ever since 1858. Originally, only ports and muscats were produced,
but since 1960 most other wine types have been made. The principal wineries include Amberton,
Augustine, Botoblar, Burnabrae, Craigmoor, de Windmolen, Huntingdon, Mansfield, Mirramar, Montrose, Mudgee and Mnt Vincent Mead.
Namoi Cotton Co-op and Ginnery
Located in We Waa, the ginnery is one of 8 in the area. On-site inspections include growing, picking and ginning.
Yarramin Gin is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
Nowra
Nowra and Bomaderry are located 163Km S of Sydney, the towns being separated by twin bridges over the Shoalhaven River. 32Km W of Nowra this
river runs thrugh spectacular gorges 610M deep. Other attractions include Shoalhaven Heads, Greenwell Point,
Huskisson, Jervis Bay, St Georges Basin and Sussex Inlet. Kangaroo Valley can be entered at Cambewarra Lookout, 11Km from Nowra.
Old Sydney Town
Located 70Km N of Sydney, Old Sydney Town is a re-creation of Sydney Cove as it was in the early 1800's (when we were bombed).
Situated in Heritage Park, the site provides picnic and BBQ areas, a kiosk, two restaurants and the Kings Head licensed tavern.

Radio Heliograph and Solar Observatory
This observatory is located 24Km W of Narrabri. The instrument consists of 96 radio telescope aerials arranged at equal intervals around the perimeter of a
circle 3Km in diameter. It is designed to explore solar-terrestrial relationships
such as the effects of sunspots and solar flares... and aliens maybe, ok not the aliens
Radio Telescope
This $1.5M telescope is located 23Km N of Parkes. The instrument towers to a height equivalent to an eighteen-storey
building and contains a moveable saucer-shaped aerial system with a diameter of 65M. Telescope plays a key role
in the exploration of deep space.
Royal Flying Doctor Service
The HQs of this famous service are located 10Km NE of Broken Hill. From here medical assistance is provided to some
four hundred outposts scattered over a large area.
School of the Air
This school is located between Queen Street Park and Norht School in LAnd Street, Broken Hill.
It was established in 1956 to educate outback children too isolated to attend normal schools.
The lessons are broadcat to pupils scattered over 1.3M square Km of outback NSW, Qld and
South Australia.
Sidings Spring Observatory
Located 24Km W of Coonabarabran, on the fringe of the Warrumbungle National Park. It has 5 optical telescopes, including
the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. These telescopes are computer-controlled and can track any heavenly body in deep space.
Timbertown
Timbertown is one of the most important man-made tourist attractions on the N coast. This authentic reproduction
of a small bush community is located 3Km W of Wauchope and features a working bullock team, a working steam-powered
sawmill and sleeper-cutting demonstrations.
Tuckerbox
Located 5Miles from Gundagai, this is a famous Australian Landmark. The 'dog on the tuckerbox' now
guards a kiosk at Five Mile Creek, on the western sides of the Hume hghway. The kiosk is set among native trees and shrubs
next to an attractive farmhouse, and nearby are the ruins of the old Five Mile Pub.
Walls of China
This spectacular configuaration is located in Mungo National Park, 145Km NW of Balranald. The30M high corrugations of white sand extend for 30Km.
The area resembes a lunar landscape.
Wellingon Caves, Clock museum and Bottle House
Located 8Km S of Wellington. Two caves are open for inspection and one, Cathedral Cave, has what is claimed to be the world's largest stalagmite
formation. Nearby is the Clock Mus., which contains many working clocks and the Bottle House, which is built of 9000 unbranded bottles and contains
an interesting display of antique musical instruments.
Western Plains Zoo
This is an extension of Taronga Park Zoo. It is located 5Km SW of Dubbo. Encompassing 300Hectares, the zoo is regarded as Australia's greatest open-range wildlife park.
There are no bars to restrict the animals and visitors may walk, cycle or drive amongst them!
