Interesting Places in NSW

With the long list of places, parks and attractions I am also going to add a few pictures, not many, though!

The bora ring is a sacred ceremonial ground where Aboriginals perform initiation rites. Such a place is located at Tucki Cemetary, on the Lismore-Woodburn Road.

Artesian Bore Baths
These famous baths are located at the corner of Gosport and Anne Streets in Moree. The Artesian water is said to have 'healing powers', making the best of those suffering from nervous, rheumatic and arthritic complaints. There are two treatment pools and an Olympic swimming pool.

Bega
Bega is the most important centre on the far south coast. It is the gateway to the resort area, known as 'Sapphire Coast' - from Tathra to Eden. The Bega flows close to the town, the nearby lakes offering grand fishing and shooting grounds, but thats kind of cruel I'd think:(

Bermagui
Located 'bout 400Km south of Sydney, it is the headquarters of the south coast big frames fishermen and is the mecca of anglers. THe cheif industries include agriculture, dairying, timber cutting, fishing and oyster culture.

Billabong Craft Centre
Now, we've all heard of Billabong gear before! It is situated at Culcairn, between Wagga Wagga and Albury, it is a highly rated craft centre with an extensive range of hand-made articles for sale. Also the site of the Tourist Information Centre.

Blowering Lake and Dam
This dam can be reached by travelling 10Km south of Tumut on the Snowy Mountains Highway, then 6Km West along signposted road. Acess to the lake is 20Km south of Tumut on the Snowy Mountain Hghway'. Lake Blowering contains the second largest body of water in the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Power scheme and the reservoir is a source of irrigation water for the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area.

Blue Mountains
Referring to the picture. The Blue Mnts derived their name from their vivid blue appearance, due to haze, when seen from a distance. Located 60Km W of Sydney and encompasses 24 townships which straddle the Great Western Hghway'. It offers some scenic bush walking trails including the Grand Canyon:)) and Rodriguez Pass at Blackheath; National Pass at Wentworth Falls (thats the front page pic) and Minnehaha Falls, Prince Henry Cliff and Federal Pass at Katoomba. Among the mountains are numerous vantage points which give spectacular panoramic views of broad valleys hemmed in by perpendicular cliffs. Towering sentinels of sandstone rise steeply from the valley floors. Other attractions include the Scenic Railway, decending 225M into the Jamieson Valley; the Scenic Skyway, travelling 450M on an aerial cable and offering glorious views of Katoomba Falls and Jamieson Valley! Also, the Skyway restaurant, located at Scenic Railway and the Skyway terminal.

This unusual phenomenon is located 19Km N of Scone at Wingen. It is a coal seam which has smouldered for over 1000yrs, giving the earth the appearance that it is on fire. It is the only phenomenon of its type in Australia and the world. (So I guess that means the only 'where' you're going to see one is right here and no where else) If I can locate a photo, check back and I'm sure I can!

Byron Bay
Located on Cape Byron, which was a former whaling station - boo that! Although this coastal township retains many relics of its former days, today it is best known as a holiday resort, it is probably one of the most promoted places in Au.
