Beaufront Deer Park
160 Hectares of natural bush sanctury, situated 8Km from the historic village of Ross. The country terrainium
consists mainly of fellow deer. It is stocked with a wide variety of Fauna.
St John the Baptist Church, Buckland
Boat Harbour
Situated on the northern coastline, Boat Harbour, though small, is unique because of its fine, white sand beaches.
Sharks don't lurk in these waters, so swimming may be performed with complete safety. This water, being so clear provides
ideal conditions for underwater explorers, like myself - nice shells down there! Also, a haven for photographers and another bonus,
that is if you enjoy fishing, this picturesque coastline provides fab fishing ops!
Bridgewater
90Km N of Hobart, it is an important market town. It is home of the Causeway, NS crossing of the Derwent River.
Constructed 1880 by 160 convicts, who transported 2M tonnes of stone by wheelbarrow for its construction.
Bruny Island
Situated at the mouth of Derwent River, this island is a charming locality and is particularly well-favoured climatically.
It has regular ferry services running between Kattering on the mainland and Barnes Bay.
Burnie
An international deepwater port located on the N coastline of Tasmania. Surrounding by rich farm lands and considered a major industrial centre,
having one of Australia's largest paper producing plants.
Cape Direction
Offers panoramic views. Not far away is Iron Pot Lighthouse, believed to be the oldest lighthouse in Australia. Constructed by convicts in 1832,
its name is thought to be dericed from the iron pot slung over a wood fire which was continually stoked by convicts to provide the first beacon.
If you're lucky you might see a ghost, hehehe:))
Circular Head
Offers great views of suburbs, farms, coast, rivers and forests. Rocky Cape National Park offers
everything from an abundance of wildflowers and orchids to caves used by the Aborigines
some 1800 years ago. Originally used as a wealthy English Sheep company, years later it benefited from, once again, the discovery of gold.
Activities include walking, fishing, photographing, surfing, sleeping, eating, drinking... ok you got it!
Coles Bay
East Coast of Tas, it and Freycinet Peninsula are known for their 300M high hills of solid red granite, with a vivid
backdrop of beaches and precipitous headlands.

D'Entrecasteaux Channel
Located between Bruny Isl. and the mainland it is one of Tas' best recreational waterways.
It is also noted for its fishing fleets. Actual translation is something like 'Between Cast Waters',
(I dont know French, so I don't know what D' means, I should though!).
Devenport
Located 100 Km W of Launceston and is the terminal for the MV Abel Tasman, the passenger and vehicle
ship which links Tas with mainland Melbourne.
Franklin
Oldest settlement on Huon River, the townshipl has three churches built in 1860's, a hotel, a tavern
and the usual shops and amenities. It has great colonial architecture, a unique apple industry mus. and one of the best
rowing venues in Southern Tas.
Gordon River
It is 193Km in length, rising in Lake Richmond and flowing into Macquarie Harbour. It winds its way through largely unexplored
country - and is known for its natural beauty.
Huon Valley
A beautiful rural valley suporting orchids and farms, Huon is one of Aust's lovliest!
It offers suburb mountains, forestries and beaches, it supports activities such as bushwalking,
mountain climbing and fishing. Old wooden pioneer homes this way also!
Ida Bay
Last working example of Tas' tramways. The 2ft guage railway was originally built to carry limestone, but now carries sightseers on a 6Km
guided tour. The town has an info centre which features a history of the area's logging, shipping and tramways.
It provides comprehensive maps and info on pop walks, the famous Lune River gemstones and wildlife!
Lake Pedder
Along with its sister lake, the Gordon, Lake Pedder holds the largest inland body of fresh water in Au.
Its area equal to 1% of Tasmania's total. This lake is renowned for its brown trout and spec natural beauty.
Launceston
'Garden City' is situated at the head of the Tamar River and is the agriculture, commercial and industrial heart of NE Tas.
The state's 2nd largest city was founded in 1805, same time as Hobart, or there abouts. Many of its original buildings stand as reminders of Tas'
heritage. Its most prominent feature are its many delightful parks and gardens. It has a 12Hectare city park, lined with flowerbeds, lawns and
enormous English Oaks and elms which flourish in the temp climate. Some features include the Launceston Country Club Casino, John Hart
Conservatory, with displays of hot-house blooms and a small zoo somewhere there!
